Anybody else exhausted with the roller coaster ride of emotions
generated by this recount thing? Some days I am jubilant and others I bottom out! I really want to trust that Kerry is working for us, and sometimes I do and others I think it is over and we have been abandoned. Both emotions strike with equal ferocity and I am worn out! Anybody else tired of the seesaw?

1. Hell yes!
I am also tired of people concentrating on that when it is obvious that the one person that matters (Kerry) is not out there fighting. What we need to work on starting now is to gear up the democratic party to whup ass in 2006. Hopefully the country is still around by that time, and not suffering from massive famine/oppression.

2. I get worn out, too.
I was glad to go to Iowa this weekend, and get away from it for awhile.

I am hoping that the recount focuses enough attention on the fraud to help us make changes. I want people to be outraged enough to demand changes. I don't think it will change the outcome of the election, though.

I have lost faith in Kerry, too, and that made me depressed for awhile.

Mostly, I alternate between fear for my country, and my children's future in it, and a deep anger over the stupid, destructive things the repukes do.

Tonight, I cried at the end of The West Wing, when President Bartlet was playing chess. Why can't we have a president like him? Because we don't deserve it? Because we have done so many greedy, oppressive and rotten things to the rest of the world, that karma is getting our country?

3. Yeah
I am exausted, but the recount is still necessary. We do need to know if it is or it isn't.

And I do think Kerry is out there fighting, just behind the scenes. He can't be too public, cause Rove and crew would've had him in court already, or they would have set the media onto a new Sore-Loserman bit.

4. this is our fight
if our vote does not count, it is not a democracy. everything american is bullshit then. we are all weary, but remember this, it is our apathy that allowed things to get so out of control.

7. But you know what? If the recount can't prove Kerry won, I am not sure
I can care anymore about the rest of it. Why would it matter?

9.  I am sorry this is NOTHING.
The Cam Kerry thing was just a form email and this seems to be an itenerate blogger whose opinion is no more valid than yours or mine. I still hope , but I am tired and I see no concrete evidence.

13. article in link above is the scenario that I really really want to believe
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 05:31 AM by DELUSIONAL
I do Genealogy research -- and we need to evaluate the evidence -- the records to establish links between the parents and the child. Primary records are records that are created at the time of the event -- actually we use many of the same rules of evidence that lawyers would use. The vote count (summary) is a secondary record -- and this is where mistakes are made. The signatures in poll books -- these are primary records. These are the records that need to be impounded asap.

The real stinker in the theory that Kerry is building a case based on evidence -- is the way Kerry and his team seemed to refuse to acknowledge that vote fraud was a possibility. This is the part I don't understand -- and yet I want to believe that he is aware of vote fraud -- and somehow anticipated Rove's dirty tricks -- and is several steps ahead of all of us.

But whatever happens -- at this point it isn't about Kerry -- it is about getting all the votes counted -- and the get the damned black box voting machines tossed into the Boston Bay or dismantled and let us all take turns beating the crap out of these damned e-vote machines with sledge hammers.

Unless the fraud is exposed to the light and eradicated from future elections -- and educate voters about the vote fraud -- future elections will be a waste of time.

This is something that we the people have to do -- and this is happening!

Stuff is coming out -- as people share their experiences and hear how other voters also were hampered from their RIGHT as a citizen.

Daddy will not rescue us -- we are going to have to find the trail all by ourselves -- this is new territory. The privatization of our vote!

11. Saracat please, you can only do so much
It's not that i've given up, but i know in my heart i've done all i can do, and i'm sure you have too.

Of course i hope every day i wake up that someone will tell me that they have finally broke a story on all major networks that fraud was proven, Kerry was screwed out of a landslide or some such wonderful tale. So far that day hasn't come.

Now all the crying and laughter will not make that day come. I stopped watching all the recounting posts, blogs etc. I decided by watching all that stuff i was just going to drive myself crazy.

Now i really don't know you except posts i've read of yours on DU but i know you're very passionate about this election. You cannot let yourself be driven crazy by all this. Now we all know there are recounts going on in Ohio and New Hampshire hopefully something will help us out in these states but if not we still will get through this hell were in. Remember it's not just up to you and me. You've done your share.

Now take a break from ALL of it. Go see movies, plays, whatever but try to get your mind off of it all. We may be in for a long hard fight but it's not just our fight. The 55 million + who supposedly voted for Kerry plus no doubt many many others will be fighting some way some how.

Now the freepers may or may not have beaten us on November 2, but don't let them now beat YOU.

12. Thanks, donheld. I too am avoiding some of the recount stuff. I have
faint , flickering hope, but I can't become too invested in it, as I don't want to really bottom out if we are to be disappointed again. My, God, it is like losing a loved one twice! You grieve and then someone says, sorry, not quite dead yet, and you hope. It sounds ghoulish to say but there are those that say I kept my Dad on a respirator too long. Maybe I am doing that with the Campaign as well. But I can't be a total believer at this point as the commitment is too much to make. We have done what we can. I hope for the future but with reservations.
