1. Unintelligible

I sat through it, and, when it was over, just felt dazed. I didn't understand one damn thing about it. I'm not that dumb - I've got a few graduate degrees.

Then, a woman sitting in front of me said, "What the hell was that about?"

I told her I was thinking the same thing.

Turned out she was an expert in Soviet relations (this is in the DC area), lived in Moscow, spoke fluent Russian, and still couldn't get it.

I felt better.
