Wow, with three days to go I find out my work here made a difference

Tonight there was a chamber of commerce meeting to address the issues surrounding a possible Coal-bed methane project in this town. The VP of the company came to talk to people to settle their nerves.
After I was talking to some people and a town councillor was one of them - they said "I just wanted to thank you." I was shocked I asked "what for?"
He said "Because you kept up with all the coalbed Methane articles and kept researching the development - that's why this meeting is here, the company is scared." I said "really?"

He said yes, "Didn't you hear him (the VP) say he never does this, it's because of your work."

I was shocked... then delighted to know that for all the shit I did trying to get this town to wake up - I managed to actually accomplish something.

It felt good.

7. Something similar happened today

I got a call from a wall street analyst who read my breaking news article about the BSE test. Evidently, I did my own small part in causing some pain to large companies' stock. There was a lot of deception in today's press conference, and I sort of pointed it out, since no one else did.
