1. The Stooges
Gimme Some Skin. Although the drum part in Lust for Life is pretty awesome. But Gimme Some Skin has the best snare/hi-hat thing ever. You feets gotta move.

Some of the Ramones songs have incredible drumming, and Clampdown by the Clash is unreal.

9. I think we all agree that Moon was fantastic.
There's never been anyone like him.

But he was anything but 'straight-ahead'.

Doncha think?

7. Can's "Oh Yeah"
So simple, yet so great. I could listen to that boom-chik-boom-boom-chik all day. Of course the bass line is pretty important as well.

12. Kashmir.
If the drums were any more 'straight-ahead' they'd be a freight train.

13. I Nominate Two
1 - Ringo Starr's drumming on "Day Tripper", generally considered his best effort.

2 - The unnamed drummer who did Steam's 1969 hit, "Na Na, Hey Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye".
