Spaghetti-O's get tougher (cuts ties to weak French)
Could the actions of a rage filled Will Pitt had something to do with this?

The label of a can of Campbell's 'SpaghettiOs', left, released by Campbell Soup Co, of Camden, N.J., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, shows the brand change to Campbell's from the old brand Franco-American, right. Campbell's says it is doing away with Franco-American because a market analysis found that Campbell's was better recognized by the public than Franco-American. (AP Photo/Campbell Soup Co.)

1. and in the follow up
we learn that the Franco-American name was picked up by the Heinz Corporation, because of course, as we all know, Heinz is fully owned by that outsourcing wife of the French Presidential Candidate. :hi:

2. If I HAVE TO settle for canned pasta...
Edited on Fri Nov-19-04 09:19 AM by Crankie Avalon
...I've always preferred Franco-American (or whatever they're going to be calling it) to Chef Boyardee.

5. It's Just As Well
I don't think the French chefs of the world ever really wanted to claim Boy-Ar-Dee as one of their own.

10. Brand recognition?
Give me a break! As if anybody who doesn't already know what Spaghetti-O's are (all three of them) will suddenly have an epiphany after the brand is changed to Campbell's. Right.

Spaghetti-O's is about as much a household word as Coke, Xerox, and Kleenex. Better recognized by the public, my ass.
