w00t! We just bought a new HDTV

Early Xmas present to each other:

Sony Grand WEGA 42" LCD Rear-Projection HDTV

Very highly rated by Consumer Reports.

Now just waiting for my progressive-scan DVD player to arrive so I can see DVDs at 480p instead of 480i.

This was an upgrade from a 12-year-old 19" TV.

Hopefully, this new TV will last at least that long...

I have a RCA 52 inch HDTV that I paid 1300,00 for. If it doesn't last at least 5 years I'm going to be very angry.. grr

3. HD is awesome.................

I find myself watching shows that I would never had considered before just because of the clarity. Of course there are only about 15 or so channels that broadcast in HD now, but it's the wave of the future. It even makes digital look like crap.
