Saw adv. screening of Chitlin's circuit film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
It was crummy. I had no idea that Tyler Perry was a phenomenon. Is he the future of black cinema? Yikes, i hope not. Pretty irresponsible filmmaking. I guess his plays have made all kinds of money. They all deal with social issues like drug use and infidelity and have a lot of faith/christian themes in them. Black funded and grass roots promoted, they are obviously filling a niche in the black community. Thoughts?
