1. I love This Modern World and Get Your War on...
Bust Boondocks is my favourite. Aaron McGruder is awesome. I can remember a month or two ago when he was on CNN, he just kept emphasizing how dumb Bush is, it was hilarious.

5. Good one.
Do you think an American artist who gave Dumbya such a treatment would end up in Gitmo?

He could have used Bush's line "Just because someone is poor doesn't necessarily mean they're a killer."

6. Tom Tomorrow, then Get Your War on
followed by Ted Rall - who I like for saying things that are true that other people are afraid to say - Garry Trudeau for his subtle jokes and cast of human characters. I like the Boondocks too, but it feels like a voice in the wilderness and that makes me feel sad.

7. Well I can't post any of his stuff here
because he mostly works for Conservative publications online but Kevin Tuma is my best friend and a phenominal artist. So he is my favorite artist period. LOL He is a Libertarian but has recently seen the evil in the Bush Administration and has changed his opinions drastically.

Remmber that name - Kevin Tuma - you will be hearing from him :)

OH and he is the sweetest guy in the world.

Just thought you'd all like to know. :)

8. Come on, you gotta have Mark Fiore in there!
Okay, he does animated cartoons, but they're progressive, and they're great!

a pretty good job.

11. love Ann Telnaes, am pissed at MacGruder
I rarely see MacGruder's work, its only published in one small paper here that's hard for me to get....but I did see a strip or two from him that were gratuitously woman bashing. The "joke" was mentioning the sexuality of older, "unattractive women" --yes that's his phrasing--and going "EWWWWWWW". Thanks Aaron, guess only fuckable girls are OK with you.

Another MacGruder that showed a real lack of creativity, on a slow news day I guess: the main character was being romantically pressured by a cutesy ruffly dress-wearing girl who was displaying stereotypical "annoying feminine hysteria". After having met him once years ago, she was pouting and nagging him for not wanting to be her boyfriend. He blows her off with his trademark cynisism. This was the only time I've even SEEN a female character in his strip. It pissed me off. Those examples of his attitude make me think he doesn't have much respect for women, if that's how he views us. So smart and trenchant as he is, I can't support him.

ANYWAY, now that I've gotten that off my chest, I love Tom Tomorrow, Ted Rall and Ann Telneas. Ann has amazing drafting skills and she actually addresses women's issues, a rarity.
