1. Hey Underpants, you're usually such a cool dude.
What's up with your Philly hatred these last few days? It's all in fun, right? You seem so angry about this and I don't get it.

3. Just one of us stupid Southerners trying to figure how to tell Nuthenuhs
apart.

Yeah I am just kidding. I still have never understood why making a sandwich in Philly makes it any different than making the same sandwich somewhere else-that is where this stems from. Oh well.

4. Hmm.
Isn't there something in Virginia that you guys are irrationally proud of? Like, something that someone from another region would be like, "So?" But you just have such a soft spot in your heart about it...

6. Just the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence
That pretty much covers it....ooh and the seafood and the hams and the peanuts and let's see what else is there.......

Actually I am really FROM Ohio......uh......do you like teams that go 10-1 and play in the Holiday Bowl (ever so close to the Rose Bowl in many ways)???? Luckily Ohioans don't have to worry about that anymore now they (we) can be oh so proud of electing W.

8. Written by Virginians
Actually the Southerners demanded the Bill of Rights. The more Federalist Northeners were all that interested in it....but hey they got to keep their slavery (which the Virginians were willing to do without).

Oh this thread is headed downhill fast.

9. The Declaration was signed in Philly
Edited on Fri Nov-19-04 02:32 PM by Zuni
even though it was mostly written by a Virginian, as was the Constitution (Jefferson and Madison, repectively)

BTW---the seafood in Virginia wishes it was the seafood in Maryland

15. Oh, crap.
Well, you started it, UP. Locksville, here we come. I don't understand the overgeneralizations! Hasn't everyone met someone nice from all the regions? How can you overgeneralize like that when you know someone personally? It's so dumb...

22. Liking somebody and understanding them are 2 different things.
I love James Carville. Don't always understand him.
Love Molly Ivins, understand her better because my family is all from Texas.

Lots of great people in the south, but some of the accents down there are thick as a Looziana swamp.

I find standard colloquial American English easiest to understand.

And that's what we speak on the west coast!
