funked up :). Just some super mellow west coast funk from Oakland.

Presto, read the Communist Manifesto
Guerillas in the Mist, a Guevara named Ernesto, so
(E-Roc: What a brother with a afro know?)
Yo, go and flow for the mack and be the hoe
so grow cause the lynchin brothers might get hung
Better rip flowin from the tip of my Mao Tse Tsung
Deficit (money spent) catch the glint
(E-Roc: of my nine as they cut welfare twenty-five percent)
And I dissent, as I clench and raise my fist
(We did away with, that) so you could get with this
Here's a twist cause we'll overthrow like Kwame N'Krumah
Spread around the wealth as if it were a, vicious rumor
Pam, cuts a record like a surgeon cuts a tumor from a brain
(E-Roc: We're all cooped up so feel the pain)
from four hundred years of exploitation
Anesthesia provided by your local TV station
Patience is not a virtue (I ain't waitin)
Turn this shit over like Bush did a boatload of Haitians

26. That's because they weren't mainstream :)
They're still around, have been since 1992 or so, they're the ones who had the album cover that was designed prior to 9/11 that had the twin towers blowing up, and they had to delay the release of the new album and redo the cover art.

The Coup is real hip-hop at it's finest.

20. The Old Stuff
Gin and Juice...

"Got my mind on my money and my money on my mind"

Also, his signature song is great...

As far as acting I like Ice Cube's work...

His Doughboy character in Boyz In The Hood was great...

The scene of him being arrested as a kid while Ooh Ooh Child plays in the background still stays in my minds...

In fact, of the genre I think Boyz In The Hood is the best and everything John Singleton did after it while entertaining didn't match up- Poetic Justice and Baby Boy though I liked Vin Rhames character in it...

63. yeah, Michael Franti
from the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy

Language of Violence (partial lyrics)

The first day of school was always the hardest
The first day of school, the hallways the darkest
Like a gauntlet
the voices haunted
Walking in with his thin skin, lowered chin
He knew the names that they would taunt him with
Faggot, sissy, punk, queen, queer
Although he'd never had sex in his 15 years
And when they harassed him it was for a reason
And when they provoked him it became open season
for the fox and the hunter, the sparks and the thunder
that pushed the boy under, then pillage and plunder
It kind of makes you wonder
how one can hurt another
But dehumanizing the victim makes things simpler
It's like breathing with a respirator
It eases the conscience of even the most conscious
and calculating violator
Words can reduce a person to an object,
something more easy to hate
An inanimate entity, completely disposable,
no problem to obliterate

But death is the silence
in this language of violence
Death is the silence
But death is the silence
in this cycle of violence
death is the silence
It's tough to be young, the young long to be tougher
When we pick on someone else it might make us feel rougher
Abused by their fathers but was at home though
so to prove to each other that they were not homos
The exclamation of the phobic fury
executioner, a judge and jury
The mob mentality, individuality was nowhere
Dignity forgotten at the bottom of a dumb old dare and a numb
cold
stare
On the way home it was back to name calling
Ten against one they had his back up against the wall and
they reveled in their laughter as they surrounded him
But it wasn't a game when they up jumped and grounded him
They picked up their bats with their muscles straining
and they decided they were gonna beat this fella's brain in
with an awful, powerful, showerful, an hour full of violence
Inflict the strictest brutality and dominance
They didn't hear him screaming, they didn't hear him pleading
They ran like cowards and left the boy bleeding

in a pool of red 'til all tears were shed
and his eyes quietly slid into the back of his head
dead...

62. I guess it depends on what your interests are
I would imagine that any conversation with Bill Clinton would be fascinating, though after the speech he gave at the opening of his library, I wondered if he wasn't still suffering from post-surgical stress syndrome. His was a very invasive procedure. I think I would choose Jim Brown over O'Neal, though I'm sure that both men are pretty interesting. But, as for rap stars, I wouldn't have a clue as to what to expect or to say. I prefer rock, as well, but wouldn't necessarily want to hang out with a rock star, either, for the same reasons.

that Paul McCartney collapsed during a recording session because, at his age, it was too much for him. Like I said, that's all I know. That's really scary, since I never will think of him as old. I like your pix and prefer them to the rap stars.:-)
