Douchebag.
Go pursue your "rap career", asswipe. I'm sure he saw dollar signs when that beer hit him.
Whatever happens, you let security handle it - for your own safety, as well as everyone else's.
He and he alone is to blame for the escalation in the stands.

1. I'm guessing he got himself into trouble again? |
|
He was such a good player at St. Johns. I loved St. Johns and I was a big fan of his. It's too bad if he ruins it.

2. That was most definetly not his fault |
|
The fan was directly to blame. I'm an objective observer of this conflict because I not only dislike the NBA as far as good basketball goes, but I'm from North Carolina which is no where near these two teams.
I know of Ron Artest's past, and this just was not his fault. I found myself grinding my teeth in anger against that idoit fan. That was one of the most classless displays of fan support I have ever seen!

Let's justify the actions of several crazy fans, when the head coach can't even do it.

13. Did you see the video? |
|
The guy was running up to Artest with his fist clinched, that guy got what he deserved to be completely honest. He came onto the court and ran up to Artest after all the brawl in the stands came to an end. Then he tried to run at Artest again, and thats when O'Neil punched him.

and "He and he alone is to blame for the escalation in the stands", right?
Give me a break, you saw the fans reaction, even the Larry Brown was disgraced by the showing. If you watch the video Artest was inside a huddle with his team until some moron throw a beverage all over him. His actions weren't right, but if you look at the video it is pretty clear where most the blame goes.

...and a real team player he is.

The blame goes on Artest.
Your he-started-it argument is beyond juvenile. Artest was lying on the scorer's table like a punk after hard-fouling Ben Wallace with 45 seconds left in a game that was not even close.

16. Beyond that, throwing something at a player |
|
especially while the game is still in progress deserves no justification. He was inside of a huddle, he can do cartwheels and it doesn't mean that those morons can throw crap at him.

24. You as a Detroit fan should be embarrassed. |
|
Your fellow fans and the security are a disgrace regardless. Then again, your behavior is consistent with the thugs and criminals aka fans at the game tonight.

And it sounds like the assholes in Detroit caused most of the problem.

18. I worked at a movie theater for three years. |
|
I have had customers throw soda at me and a few times I have been grabbed. I always got away as fast as possible and called the management and the police.
Any links to a video of the incident? From what I hear a beverage was thrown from a distance. He should take a shower instead of throwing a punch.

but I hope that fan got the shit kicked out of him, along with his fine, and/or jail time. There is NO excuse for that kind of behavior. No excuse whatsoever.

25. too many people have it in their heads that merely purchasing.. |
|
a ticket gives them license to act like complete assholes. For instance, the woman who had her nose broken after Frank Francisco tossed that chair in the stands. She and her husband admitted that the reason they bought those seats was so that they could harass the players. If I had been sitting in their section, I would have probably taken a swing at her husband myself.
If enough people get their ass kicked in that fashion, perhaps it will give others pause to consider their actions. I have ZERO sympathy for drunken assholes. I've dealt with them most of my adult life.

If my hometeam such as the Carolina Panthers or Charlotte Bobcats (yeah they suck right now) ever had fans act anything like this, I would be completely embarassed!
