Favorite late night snack?
If you were to go to the fridge right now for a snack what would it be?

I'm going to go with a tortilla with melted cheddar cheese.

17. GET OUT!!!
I saw the movie today. (I will only feel brave enough to admit that at 1:30 A.M., plus I'm feeling emboldened by that cheesy tortilla.)

7. Dr. Pepper and blueberry bagels
They just seem to go well together. And if I wanted anything else I'd have to leave DU.

Actually, I'm afraid I'd head to bed.

My stepdaughter is having a pretty intense psychotic episode this weekend. She'll be admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning per arrangments with her doctor. Right now, I'm trying to stay awake for another two hours when my partner takes over the watch.

I got up earlier to get something to eat and sat down on the couch with it. I leaned back and I almost fell asleep. Okay, I did fall asleep. I woke up when my stepdaughter was trying to get out the door. We have keyed deadbolts for this reason and we have to hide the keys.

She's with us because she was picked up by the local PD last night for the second time within a month for causing a public disturbance. I think I have a future homeless daughter upstairs. She's constantly running away (she just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago) and getting lost. She's been diagnosed as bipolar but as time goes on it is looking more like schizophrenia. My younger sister has schizophrenia that was triggered by a car accident, so I'm familiar with the early patterns.

Anyway, the Dr. Pepper is helping to keep me awake (I started with a 24 -pack earlier this evening) and the bagels were just by the desk.

22. Thanks. She just turned 18
two weeks and one day ago.

She's had problems for years. When I met my partner (now my husband) I knew she had problems. I wasn't sure what they were and quite frankly neither did he. I didn't know how bad it would get. I didn't have a clue. But I love him and we will get through this together. I'm sure this weekend will seem like a piece a cake some time in the future.

I just figure, it isn't the first time, it won't be the last. It's his daughter and therefore my daughter (although she hates me & there are times when I think she wants to kill me). When I signed on with him, I signed on for the full deal. This is just part of it.

We're just trying to get her back on her meds and trying to arrange a visit with her siblings (who are staying with mom) before she goes to the hospital. The last time she was taken forcibly and it was traumatic for everyone involved. We're trying to get her settled down, fed and rested so we can do a family thing Saturday evening. I'd rather them see her clean and rested rather than screaming obscenities. I think she'd feel better about going if she knew they knew she was "voluntarily" going to the hospital this time.

21. Why aren't they able to admit her right away?
It doesn't seem reasonable that they expect the family to cope with a psychotic episode for more than 36 hours.
