1. Both of course

In fact I always thought Mr. Show was one of the few sketch shows to try to have a cohesive them to their sketches like the Pythons did.

Both of thse shows are miles beyond any of the ones airing now.

8. They just over-dubbed the f-word.

I still heard "shit" and "cock."

The skit still included the huge black dildoes. It was pretty graphic for TBS, although this was at about 130 in the morning..

20. My favorite sketch

The one where the protest performance artist gets constipated while trying to shit on the flag.

They do a hilarious flashback to the founding fathers who (in order to prevent the flag from being shit upon in the future) decide to design a flag with a specific pattern of colors that will prevent people from producing a bowel movement...

That image of all the founding fathers squatting over the flag, unsuccessfully trying to shit on it, is perfect.

I have been watching Mr. Show season 4. I think I like the rough feel of the earlier seasons.

but I'm a HUGE fan of Monty Python. I began watching them on PBS in the '70s and fell in love. They were the funniest show I had ever seen. After that I began watching all the British Comedies I could find, but they are my loves.

When they came out with "Life of Brian", my best friend and I saw it over and over and when the preachers picketed outside the theater we tried talking to them. Didn't do any good(not much has changed has it). We both wrote fan letters to the members of Python telling them how we loved the movie and how many times we had seen it.

Well I was surprised to receive a package one day and in it were a bunch of picture buttons from the movie and a wonderful letter from John Cleese. I NEARLY died. Two days later I received a very nice letter from Terry Jones. I was in heaven.

They will always be my favorite comedy troupe.

Also KITH. All three! I would add SCTV in there but the quality fluctuated greatly depending on who was in the cast (yeah Martin Short, I'm talkin' to you).

I'm also enjoying the Odenkirk-produced Tom Goes to the Mayor on Adult Swim. Seen it?
