I know this man and he is doing a very good work. You can go to the New Scientist Magazine site and register for a free week to get into the archives. This article appeared in the October 16 edition on page 46. I am thinking of going to Brazil and working with him. The caboclos are the forgotten people of the Brazilian Amazon. The mixed-race descendants of native American Indians and Europeans, they get none of the rights of the indigenous forest-dwellers and are ignored by the government and by aid organisations. Miguel Rocha, a caboclo who was born in the forest and moved to the city, is leading their fight for recognition. He tells Adrian Barnett how he is going about it
