Probably the most literate screenplay in the history of English cinema, and a near-psychic prediction of what 21st century media has actually become. Every time I see "embedded" jounalism footage from Iraq I can't get the memory of the "Mao Tse-Tung Hour" out of my head.

A timeless masterpiece.
Ned Beatty's little speech to Peter Finch about AT&T, ITT, IBM, etc. was worth the price of 30 years of movie popcorn...

it described the corporate media before the news divisons were swallowed up by the entertainment divisons.
The movie knew exactly where the media was headed.

She wanted to see 'Rocky'.
That's when I first realized that we had a problem.

10. Saw it on HBO in 1982 and loved it. |

I was only 16 at the time, so I'm guessing I'd think even better of the film today!

On another note, do you think NBC News will kill Tom Brokaw on the air on his last day? :scared:
