after much thought I changed my screen name
to a sanskrit name:

Vajra = indestructible truth

rosha = rage, wrath

na = nominalization particle; that is, it makes the rest of the expression a noun

So my new name means "Wrathful indestructible truth-bearer"

Or thereabouts.

While vajra has numerous meanings, here it means the *real* truth. The main meaning of "vajra" is "indestructible", also "diamond" because diamond is the hardest substance. In sanskrit-buddhism symbolism the vajra is "what is, as it is". It's not a matter of opinion.

Rosha means pure rage and wrath.

The two together mean that I'm not going to let anyone tell me what the truth is that is counter to what the truth actually is. That means Fox news or anybody.

The wrathful part, "rosha" has to do with using anger and rage in a healthy positive way, not a neurotic selfish way.

Because "rosha" is connected with "vajra" it means that I intend to use my anger in a clear way, not an unhealthy selfish way, but in a way that I hope can be used to *clarify* the situation in these difficult times.

This is also connected with those weird-looking "wrathful" deities in the Hindu/Buddhist pantheon. It's connected to that in a deep way.

Hopefully I can live up to the values embodied in such a deep screen-name.

1. Are you aware that's also a Cherokee word
that means, "shameless running coward?"

(j/k -- just jealous 'cause mine has no significance whatsoever) :P

3. it also can mean "raging inviolable truth"
I respect Cherokee teachings, and a few years ago found out that I am 1/16th Cherokee. It comes from both sides of my family. It's small but I respect that.

I don't think it means anything in "Cherokee".

I think you are just joking.

Of course, I know you are just joking.

4. after only a little bit of thought I think
that your comment was a bunch of bullshit.

Insulting bullshit.

There's no similarity to my new name and any Cherokee word. So your post was meant only as some kind of either 1) joke; 2) insult.

I'll just take it as a half-assed try at a joke. I guess you didn't guess that I was part Cherokee.

So you are off the hook with your lame-ass joke.

I guess that's what I get for posting this in the Lounge.

Ha ha, I get it.
