Yankees are the conservatives dream team. They spend the most on players without caring about the rest of baseball, or the ramifications of skyrocketing payrolls. They are the ultimate "me" team, and their fans show it.
I always thought that any liberal who roots for the yanks, ought to consider why? They get the best player from other teams, who becomes an average player on the yanks. They are like watching an all star team assembled. If you root for an underdog team, It is way more awesome when they win, as opposed to the yanks winning all the time, in boring fasion. They are the have-mores in baseball, and everyone else is the haves and have-not.
Number one fan Rudy Gooliani, is another reason to hate the yanks. He can blame our troops, but he'll never say anything bad about Chimp, or the yanks.
I don't mean to disparage the players, because I have to say Jeter may be the most clutch hitter in the game. But I hate the uniform, and the arrogance.

Braves because they were always on TV growing up and were pretty boring in the '80s. In the 90s they were good but not quite good enough. GOt sick of them losing in the Series.
