IPOD Help....real media files (.rm) on an Ipod? |
|
Is it possible to play .rm files on an ipod? I know it won't do it right out of the box....but does anyone know if there's a way to rig it?

most real media files are streams, meaning the only information in the file is the address from which to stream the content. i dont think any portable players support even the non-streaming format.

Real Media tried to make a hack up that would allow you to play .rm files on the iPod and were succesful. But Apple didn't like that much, and it might have been a case of reverse engineering.
Chances are if you installed the hack you would void your software license with Apple.
I'm not saying this is good or bad, just stating the basic facts.

3. Maybe you will find something at this great ipod user site |
|
www.ipodlounge.com
Typically you can find lots of great utilities there.
But I am guessing you will need to find something that convert .rm to mp3. At least that is the route I would take. Try www.shareware.com and see what you can come up with.
