Can I get to post #1500 by 2 AM CST?
Only 89 left...

I just got to #1300 very early Thursday morning (appropriately, the worst day I've had in a long time). 1500 by 2 AM means 200 posts in ~4 days.

And I even missed most of yesterday because I was working on a project/hanging out.

Let me hear some "ask me anything!" style questions and we'll see how far I can get }(

I actually didn't brush today because I was planning on eating right after I showered.. and I had to leave the house real quick after I ate.

I'll go brush now.

I tend to believe that life doesn't have an eraser... so neither should my writing instrument.

If I screw up writing something, I'll just cross it out and keep writing.

49. Erasers are for those who are in denial of their imperfection
The pen... well, I admit I make mistakes, so I just cross them out and leave the evidence.

The thing that really pisses me off though is pencils with awful erasers. The really tough erasers that have waaay too much grip with the paper and do little more than mark + tear the paper.

14. The Game of Life is too freeperish
It's all about growing up and becoming part of the suburban system machine, man.

Fuck that.

Monopoly is too monopolistic. Plus there are too many "spinoffs" (Edna Craboppaly, anyone)?

Scrabble fo shizzle. Actually requires a fucking brain, unlike other so-called "board games" that are all random luck and chance (or manipulation of loopholes in the game rules).

42. I had Starbucks for the first time yesterday
I got exhausted looking for Cliffs notes with my friend at the Borders at Woodfield Mall. They say the Cliffs Notes are in the section 1D - Reference. But nowhere to be found.

We got sick of looking and just decided to fuck it and leave, and what do you know... she stops as we're leaving, turns, and points with shock written all over her face.

They were in the totally wrong section, hidden behind various bookshelves. I got the (way overpriced) Cliffs Notes...... I barely made it out of the store conscious.

She led me across the parking lot to Starbucks, where I had a Tall Cappucino. It was ok... didn't really taste like anything at all. That is, until I got to the lower 1/4 of the drink, which is pure hot milk :puke:

I tried some of her vanilla espresso... and the sentiments of many a DU'er rang true: the coffee was way over-roasted. Still tasted fine to me, though.

Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 12:40 AM by St. Jarvitude
We are doing a project for Brit Lit class. I read the whole thing over a weekend when the project was first assigned. Me being the braindead idiot I am, I didn't do any of the work that was assigned for the book (which is due Tuesday... and we barely got any work done from 1 PM Saturday to 10:45 PM... mostly just hung out)

I needed a refresher, and that's exactly what Cliffs Notes are good for. Or if you just don't want to read the book :)

I got really frustrated trying to find those damn Cliffs notes. LOL

Seeing as how she's not a licensed driver, and Woodfield is a ~25 minute drive from my house (15 when I'm speeding like mad down the expressway), and we had driven to Borders, there was no other option than to get me caffeinated quickly.

I'm probably not going to patronize another Starbuck's establishment for a while.

98. What does your avatar mean?
A poem:

Tattoo, by Tom Jakubowski

Japanese kanji tattoos
you think mean
"honor" "love" "peace"
actually mean
"shoehorn" "stench" "fish sandwich"
should not be written
in industrial strength Sharpie.

But others -
devil horns and goatee on pResident's poster,
freedom fighter Arabic on a gauze banner,
peace rally "HAIL TO THE CHIMP" sign -
deemed more deserving of the Sharpie's mark.

It makes them last
until the world
turns to nuclear dust.

The only time I could see a use for it is breast reduction surgery... as it's usually needed to reduce pain.

Otherwise, it makes people look plastic and inhuman. Wrinkles tell me you have a good story to tell.

135. Two dogs and a rabbit
The dogs: Freckles and Tawny.

Freckles is quiet and likes sitting in a recliner all day, until someone comes home when she freaks out and goes mad.

Tawny is the crazy ADD one. Everyone in my house thinks she's stupid, but I contend she's the smartest dog in the world and is faking it to get sympathy points. It works with the rest of my family at least!

I don't know their breeds or anything coz they're not really my pets. My parents and my sister mostly take care of them.

The rabbit is named Buster. She's a really cool indigo color with white hilites. I wish I had a pic, but she's really camera-shy and gets scared of the flash.

I used to have another rabbit (named by my sister), but Pikachu died last winter when we had a maggot that was living in her eye removed (the most disgusting thing I've seen that's not named Rush). The vet said it was a heart attack induced by shock. That was a very sad day for me :(

Buster sounds amazing. I've never had one, but used to take care of my neighbor's when they went away. He had a huge cage that I had to get into to feed him and my sicko brother used to lock me in. I'm so sorry about Pikachu. That sounds really rough. I know how it is, since I lost both of my cocker spaniels within six months of each other, during the past two years.;(

However, I knew he had a very little shot at actually receiving the nomination. Therefore, I was also a very strong supporter of Dean.

I would've been happy with DK, Dean, Clark, or Mosely-Braun. Gephardt and Kerry were "ok" by me. Lieberman and Sharpton were definite no-nos for me.

But I could have lived with everybody but Lieberman, who kept trying to align himself with the Republicans. I used to dismiss Sharpton as a nut-case, until I discussed him with a Sharpton supporter, and really started listening to what he had to say. I found that he made a lot of sense and that I actually agreed with him. And he seemed to get the most applause during the debates, so I think that a lot of people liked him. He may not have been electable, but he brought up a lot of issues that needed to be discussed.:-)
