Do people think they own DU now or something?

There have been a few threads lately by DUers requesting things that would suit them. I'm not going to mention what (a flamewar is not the purpose of this thread), but there have been many.
Are people getting so comfortable with their role on DU that they think they can just dictate everyone elses behaviour?
Remember, the interent is like a bathroom wall - deal with it.

37. Well, in all honesty

I am new here, but I must say I could see a lot of ways this site could be improved. A disaster has befallen the Democratic Party in this country, and there is war to be waged. Whatever we have been doing, it's not working real well for us. This site makes for interesting reading, but I do now not see a whole lot of direct political action or organizing going here. Lots of little snippets in the posts, but not much analysis or proposals for action, and very little in depth discussion of the issues. It's just a mass of new threads every day, with no focus. The seperation by state looks like a step in the right direction. Instead of condemning people for offering new ideas, you should welcome them. The Democratic Party needs input and teamwork. The days of "my way or the highway" are over, we need all the help we can get. The last place in the world people should be engaging in flame wars is here. One more loss like the last one, and this party is finished. The Libertarians are attracting disaffectd Democrats and Republicans, and at the rate we are going, we could go the way of the Whigs or the Reform Party. To tell you the truth, all I ever here is half-measure spin on issues from our leadership, and not the kind of total dedication to cause and purpose that is going to be needed to fix this thing. If I was DU, I'd establish some kind of platform committee and develop a set of principles we will not compromise on, and start holding our own leadership's feet to the fire.
