I started mine today.....however do Turkeys ever get totally thawed???? without some assistance.

From prior experience, for a normal-sized bird sitting in the 'fridge, you're talking like a week to thaw all the way through. I once thought three days would be enough -- and it wasn't.

But you might try putting it in a pan of water to thaw...or the sink, if you don't have a pan that will cover the bird.

I'm so excited because I'm having a friend over who hasn't even tasted turkey before, much less attended a Thanksgiving feast. Tomorrow night I start brining the turkey. I can't cover it in bacon like I usually do, though, because the friend is a Muslim so bacon fat is all out.
