Can anyone tell me what 'creative kicking' is? |
|
I know this thread might get locked. But another poster complained that a thread had been deleted, apparently because of their using of 'creative kicking' - which they thought was a marvellous new tactic they were developing.
Unfortunately they didn't explain what 'creative kicking' is (and now say they've given up on DU, still without explaining what the problem was). Any ideas, anyone?

1. When you "kick" a thread |
|
you simply add a short post at the end, so that it jumps back up to the top of the forum listings. (The threads are sorted by last modified timestemp.)
"Creative kicking" was probably a euphemism for something, I'm guessing.

2. Yes, it's that 'something' I'm trying to work out |
|
the way they phrased their complaint, they seemed to think it was obvious what it was. Not to a dumbo like me (and I'm neither under 18 or over 40!)

3. Either you aren't dumb, or we both are! |

I've been trying to think and I don't know what it could have been. I remember an exploit that was discovered in the forum software some time ago where you could put HTML code in a poll message that would cause everyone who opened the thread to vote for one particular option in it. That was patched, but maybe it could be something similar?
