Word is the Montreal Expos are going to get renamed Washington Nationals |
today. - heard it on NPR coming in this morning. I can live with that - uses a traditional name that doesn't have the baggage of the "Senators". Furthermore, lots of folks continued to use the "Nats" as a nickname long after they were renamed the Senators.

1. I think that was the name of the Negro League team, |
and they want it named after them rather than the "failed" AL team.

4. I Understand It's Historical, |
but what the hell is a "national"? And do they really want a team that's going to be called the "Nats"?

7. That was the first Senators' official team name. |
So yes, it's historic. The reason why they vetoed the Grays is because the Grays played a majority of their games in their hometown of Homestead, PA, near pittsburgh.
