Al Franken's book is a MUST READ. |
|
I know it has been said. I don't think it can be said too many times. Just finished it. Absolutely brilliant.

to my recently-converted minion. I'm hoping he'll finish it soon, so that I can read a few sections again. I blew through Lies... in one day. Couldn't put it down.

I've read this TWICE, my husband has read it and my parents are next. This book should be an essential tool for anyone truly interested in fair and balanced. There is so much material here for the Dems to use against Bush & Co.

6. The wonderful thing about liberal books in general... |
|
is that they're actually read and passed around for others to read. They have an impact.
Right-wing books tend to end up on the bookshelf unopened, unread, and unexamined, no doubt next to the family Bible.
A friend of mine gave O'Reilly's book to a wing nut family member as a gift and peace offering. She carefully pressed a fresh dog turd into the book's pages about 1/3 of the way through. To this day he hasn't found the dog turd, despite the fact he claims it's the best book he ever read!

about the tax cut, and all the info about the elimination of the estate tax (guess the GOP wasn't REALLY interested in saving the "family farm")

and my Repukkkkkk uncle is coming over this afternoon to fix the oven and I'm going to leave it out in plain sight. I'm hoping that he will ask to borrow it (hopefully not to shred it, but read it).
It's a great book and well-written.

(I wonder if it's worth buying the paperback version of "Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" too... since my uncle is a Rushbot too.)

15. I DISAGREE STRONGLY!!! |
|
If you have not yet bought this book, PLEASE HEED MY ADVICE:
***DON'T BUY IT***
Don't check it out of the library either!
My strong suggestion is:
BUY THE AUDIO BOOK (Do it now!).
I feel really sorry for people who actually read the book, because there is no way, I don't care what a great reader you are, there is no way it could even be as close to enjoyable as it is having Al Franken himself read the book to you.
He is HILARIOUS, and a performer, so his delivery is every bit as entertaining as the content. I'm listening to it now on my commute, and am having a great time of it.
Buy the audio book (unabridged) and ENJOY!

18. Some freeper was giving me a dirty look today while I was reading it |
|
Some woman on BART (S.F. subway) was trying to gimme dirty looks today while I was reading it. Took me a couple of glares to figure out what the problem was, so I just started laughing out loud whenever I came across funny parts (which is pretty often). It was great fun. Later on, a guy in a 3 piece suit walked up and asked me what I thought of it, and we spent the next 20 minutes talking about Franken, Coulter, DU (which he never heard of but will check it out). Ah, public transportation!
