So my work group went out to lunch at Tumbleweed today to "treat" a new hire. Now, I've been at this loathsome establishment before, and have suffered numerous gastronomic indignities there. Nonetheless, as I didn't have to pay, I went.

Trouble is, as I was choking down this odious fare, I was staring straight into the face of Col. Nathan Bedford Forrest.

This whole country seems to be sliding backwards. Last Saturday my wife (African American) received a catalog from a "country store" establishment with pages of black "Slave Mammy" dolls. "Perfect for the kitchen" Needless to say she spit out quite a few very bad words and threw it in the trash!

Thanks God Carl Rove wasn't around when the civil rights movement was just getting started. Otherwise we might now have a Constitutional Amendment guaranteeing people the right to refuse to hire, rent to, or associate with people of other races and religious beliefs.
