Poll question: Pervert of Just trying too hard?

This is long, but it’s a good story. Let me begin by saying I was 14 but in all fairness, I looked older.

I was on a relatively isolated patch of sand laying on my stomach with my nose in a book and enjoying my solitude. The occasional person walked behind me along the shore. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a guy walk past me. A few minutes later, he came back and asked me if I had the time. I did. He started to walk away, but then kept asking me questions.

Did I mention he was 25 if he was a day. He came towards me and proceeded to ‘Chat me up.’ I wasn’t very responsive, but I am Canadian so I was polite. Yes, no, uh huh etc. I kept reading. Eventually, he was reclining beside me while I was doing my best to discourage him. Then he asked me, “Do you mind if I drop and catch a few rays?”

I couldn’t really see how he could ‘drop’ any further so I said, “Pardon me?”

“Do you mind if I drop and catch a few rays?” he said again while indicating his shorts.

“Actually, I rather do.” Round one to me.

It went on for a while, pretty much as before. He talked – I tried to ignore him. Then he announced that he was going to go for a swim. “Fine.”

“I need to change.” (He looked to be wearing swim trunks to me, but what did I know.)

“Whatever.” I was getting a bit terse by this point. He changed, and I kept reading. Eventually, he was ready and again announced his attention to go swimming. I looked up at him and said, “fine” again. He had changed into a white, nylon Speedo type suit. It really looked more like a lining to me. He went swimming. I continued to read – glad to have my space back.

Unfortunately, he returned. His wet bathing suit left little to the imagination, but my only reaction was to roll my eyes as he approached. He settled down beside me again. Things went on as before. After a few minutes he declared that he was indeed going to drop and catch those rays.

“Whatever.” I was almost past the point of caring. So he stripped down. I can’t imagine what my parents would have done if they had wondered by at this juncture – fourteen-year-old daughter reading a book on the beach beside a naked man.

He asked me, “Have you ever been to Wreck Beach?” (For those of you who are not from my part of the world, Wreck is a famous, clothing optional beach in Vancouver.)

“No.”

“Have you ever suntanned nude?”

“No.” I hadn’t at that time.

“You should try it.” I passed. He then proceeded to tell me how good it felt. Somewhere mixed in with his explanation was an offer to touch…..his package. (Is it still a ‘package’ if it isn’t wrapped up?) I passed on that one too.

He desperately wanted me to notice…him, but I just wouldn’t. I can be quite stubborn when provoked. Eventually, he gave up and said that he was going to get dressed, which as you might imagine was ‘fine’ with me.

He got up, grabbed something out of his bag, rustled around a bit and then he plopped down beside me again. “I’m done.”

“Good.” I looked over towards him as I said that. I noticed that there appeared to be no clothing where there should have been clothing. I looked away again.

He laughed. “I almost got you there.”

“Ha, ha, very funny.”

Eventually, he did get dressed and disappeared into the woods.
