Poll question: Should level 3 sex offenders likely to reoffend be realesed?
I mean, released into public neighborhoods with children living near by? Actually, my city had the nerve to release a level 3 sex offender that had been arrested for raping two eight year old girls into a neighborhood development with a few three to twelve year old kids living down the street. He was also allowed to live alone. And he was likely to re-offend.

W.T.F?!

So, they locked up that guy from Enron for life for stealing a few million dollars. And they lock up a man who destroyed a childs innocence for a five year sentence?!
So, do you think that these criminals should be allowed to live in places like that?

2. There's talk of a special place to put child molesters.
Since they can't be rehabilitated, there are people who want to commit them to a special place for life. Not such a bad idea, if you ask me, but it brings up a lot of legal issues, like double jeopardy.

3. Perhaps they should have their own ward in the prison
seperate them from the killers and the drug users. In fact, they should all be seperated from each other.

7. I kinda think it's fitting they get man-raped.
I mean, they did it to a little kid. Prison isn't about punishment anymore. And sometimes I think that's wrong.
Flame me if you must. But I've had too many family members whose lives were ruined by child molesters.

17. There's a good chance they were abused themselves ....
as children. I would just like for there to be some way to keep them away from children, so that the cycle doesn't continue.

5. The recidivism is actually
not as bad as other criminals it just politically better for politicians. And the media is not fair in reporting the issues read this report about sex offender recidivism by the Dept of Justice.

11. They're more likely to commit similar offenses again.
Child Molesters can't get better, and won't. The ones that do get better isolate themselves from children because they know they have to. But They will never get better.

16. I dont agree and the studies dont show that
Furthur more Id also like to know who the drunk drivers are and the arsonists are and of course the murders are as well how come we dont have a register for these?? If its gonna be for one group of people it should be for all groups. Keep in mind I think they should be monitored as well and not allowed around children I have a little boy and would kill anyone who tried to touch him but I dont think the curent system is working or will ever work. And once the govenment gets people use to this reporting system, its just a few steps away from the stars and pink triangles of the nazis.

15. The should be treated as mentally ill
And kept incarcerated with treatment until such time as a 100% cure can be found, they agree to physical and chemical castration or they expire from natural causes.
And they should never be unmonitored.
