My Favorite Poorly-Reviewed Movie Is On Right Now
Waterworld. A movie that nearly every critic said was the most horrible thing ever made.

Personally, I really enjoyed it and always enjoy watching it when it comes on.

Any other closet Waterworld fans out there?

BTW, its on USA right now.

1. I don't like that movie
but I know what you're talking about as far as liking "crappy" movies goes. I love Battlefeild Earth, but all the critics say it sucks.

14. The original Tremors yes
The 2nd 3rd and apparently there's a fourth, I'll have to say no. the series is also horrible, and that's comming from the guy who watches the sci fi channel more than anything else. :)

2. It has my favorite stupid action scene of all time..
The perfect snatch and grab balloon bungee jump. Utterly ridiculous.

The critics were right, it's a terrible movie. To each his/her own I guess. :)

4. Yeah, although I like the Postman more
I give science fiction movies a lot more leeway than non-SF flicks.

Wasn't too excited about Waterworld. For some reason, hearing that Costner delayed release to use CGI to address his receding hairline kinda turned me off.

Odd how he went from Field of Dreams and Dancing With Wolves to straight up apocalyptic action flicks.

6. The Postman was pretty good
I think that got better reviews than Waterworld though. But oddly, I thought it had a worse premise.

7. I liked the backstory of Waterworld
There were some nice touches, like the gills. Pretty well thought out. The Postman's premise was definitely more straightforward. But hey, it had Tom Petty, and I always liked the video for "You Got Lucky"...

8. I hate to say it, but it did not suck.
I've spent a couple of afternoons crashed out on the sofa watching those freaks, it's decent entertainment.

13. I think it was ripped apart because of its budget
They had a lot of problems shooting it and it kept going over budget. At the time, they were expecting it to be another Heaven's Gate. It actually did decent box office worldwide.
