"Noises Off" was hands down one of the worst films in the 90's! |

Maybe ever. Am I wrong?
I may be because when I've looked up comments on this piece of shit they are all pretty good, what the hell happened?
I had to stop myself from demanding the ticket price back it was so lousy. Yet...yet...yet...
What did I miss?

2. So my memory isn't that bad? It REALLY did suck? |
|
I'd heard the same about the play but holy ravioli, if the play was that boring, even with Nicolette Sheridan, I can't imagine what they were smoking.
I want some of that stuff.

4. I saw the play, and thought it was great |
|
but have never seen the film. I've heard it's got a Hollywood happy ending; but the play was funny all the way through, so it can't be just that that made it a crap film. Maybe it was the live comedy atmosphere.

...this was classic high British sex farce. Timing, writing, acting...all dead on. Some of the best lines go on inside the head of Lloyd Fellowes, played by Michael Caine.
Usher: Is there something wrong with your seat, Mr. Fellowes? Lloyd Fellowes: (thinking) Yes, it's facing the stage!
The rest of the great cast: Christopher Reeve, Denholm Elliot, John Ritter (all deceased now), Marilu Henner Nicolette Sheridan, Julie Hagerty, Mark-Linn Baker, Carol Burnett.
I stumbled upon it by accident one fine summer day...and spent the next hour or so in hysterics. So did my honey. :)
Humor is subjective, after all.
On edit: I went to see the revival on B'way a few years later...massively disappointed...the cast just didn't have it...and the direction was muddy. :::sigh:::

9. Well, see, I tend to lean toward farce, at least when it's solid. |
|
Wouldn't want to fall on my face.
It was some 12/13/14 years ago that I had my bad experience, perhaps I should give it one chance for redemption in my somewhat non-important estimation?

Pardon me if I sounded arrogant...believe me that was not my intent.
That said...another viewing couldn't hurt... :)
