Why do my neighbors think System of a Down is appropriate blasting music?

Especially because I just put in an Elvis Costello CD, and I don't have proper speakers so I'm playing it in my DVD player, through my TV. I can't compete on volume or on bass or on sheer crapitude.

3. Get a noise generator program for your PC

Get a set of good earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones, and hook them up to a CD player playing Elvis Costello.

Hook up the PC to your TV.

Blast a suitably high-pitched (or low-pitched) noise until the neighbors come screaming to your door. When they complain, say "I was just jamming with you, man, why do you gotta kill my buzz?"

Keep it going until they get the point and turn off/down their crappy System of a Down music.

Ugh, I forgot about how bad System of a Down (and the million other crappy bands just like them) are. Blech :puke:

4. I feel for you

I have neighbors that just moved in below me and they are making me nuts. They play guitar from 9 am to 11 pm and it's the same song over and over.
AND I can hear them have sex. I have literally been on the phone talking to someone and the person on the other end goes "whats that noise" and I have to say ....just my neighbors having sex again. Unbelievable.

(I guess what I'm asking -- are they being obnoxiously loud, or are the walls just that thin?)

I ask this because I have heard my neighbors having sex. And I think the walls are just that thin. (I just moved in a few weeks ago.) I fear for my future relations. :scared:

24. It's pretty bad when it's the neighbors below you

I always got apartments on the top floor because you can't hear your neighbors below you as much as you can above you. You run the risk of getting the kind of neighbor who complains every time you walk across the living room floor, like I did once (what was I supposed to do, levitate? It was carpeted and I'm always barefoot; I don't know what the problem was), but at least they're quieter. I don't miss apartment living one bit.
