I loved that guy.

I saw him a few times at the Grog and Tankard in DC. He was so funny. One night at the Grog and Tankard, I was standing, as I always did, in the front row. He introducted me to the crowd as LSD kingpin Owsley. Everyone cheered. RBS died back in June 1993. Obligatory links:

7. I loved the guy too...

I spent a lot of time in the DC area in the late 70's early 80's,and got to experience the Root live on numerous occasions.

The most memorable was at the Roxy for the record release party of "Don't Let This Happen to You". Some how I ended up back stage during the band's break. People doing all kinds of shit backstage, and there was Root sitting on an old beat up sofa, holding court and telling stories.

One I remember, was about how Root was on stage somewhere, when a monitor fell and hit him on the head, and he was bleeding, but he didn't feel anything because, "I was all fucked up".

I still have the autographed copy of "DLTHTY" and consider it one of the prized possessions in my record collection.

I have all of Root's records except "Dog Secrets", I would love to get my hands on a copy, even a dub.
