headache. I go outside and it's definitely outside. Man. I'm wondering if I should call 911. Has the smell of a burnt motor. But it could be anything. I've got a hell of a headache right now.

1. If it's that bad, call the fire department AND the police.

You could simply ask that they come out and check around your area to see if something's amiss.

Or, if you're lucky, they'll inform you that they've already found the problem and it's under control.

If it's getting that bad for you, throw on something warm and take a drive away from where you are to get some fresh air. Not to frighten you unduly but you have NO idea just how toxic this substance you're smelling is.

4. Well, I called 911, and they sent TWO police cars in about a minute

The officer said that "Someone has been setting trash fires around the city. Had I seen anything?" Nope, just the smell.

don't call 911 they won't care is it everywhere or coming from a direction ? i just farted but it probably isn't that.

2 yrs ago, I walked outside and smelled burning Timber.... turned out to be the 'downdraft' from the forest fires burning about 1,500 miles north of me in Canada.

So who knows, could be a Power Plant Burning some where, Toxic Chemical Cloud, or just some passing cloud of Pollution that finally broke down from the atmosphere and decended on your town.

Nothing to worry about though, Our Great Leader is protecting us.
