THE ELECTION IS OVER
Its is time for us to put down the weapons of political war and join together with our counterparts on the right and make America the nation we always knew it could be.

This poem, which I received in an e-mail, sums it up best!!!!!!

************

A Poem for the Election
by Anonymous

>
>The election is over, the results are now known.
>
>The will of the people has clearly been shown
>
>We should show by our thoughts and our words and our deeds
>
>That unity's just what our country now needs.
>
>Let's all get together. Let bitterness pass.
>
>I'll hug your elephant.
>
>You kiss my ass.

10. When you guys try to analyse what is obviously a joke
I know you will miss the meaning of the joke.
Yes, the last two lines are the punchlines.
Yes, it is all tongue in cheek
No, I was not serious about my lead-in to the poem.

Chill guys.

11. I'm sorry........
The stolen election is still too fresh in everyone's minds. Having bu$h running rampant another 4 years is NOT a joke.

12. Thats why
when there is nothing you can do about it right now, instead of letting it eat away at you, joke about it to maintain your sanity and your determination to strike when the time is right.

14. I know.....you are right
I've never been this upset and angry since the stolen election in 2000. What I find that helps me a lot is this: I don't watch any of the bu$h loving whores on TV anymore. I quit watching all of them. Instead,I watch movies or classic sitcoms. That really is a big help.Watching other things instead of Chrissy Matthews,crossfire and the rest of those scumbags have made a huge difference for me.I new Dan Rather was sure to go.....the ratwing thugs have been working on this for a long time. Sending their hate E-mails and calling everybody on the phone succeeded. When the nazi brownshirts scream loud enough,they always get their way. I wonder what rightwing nut they will replace him with? It's a standard rule now,that anyone who doesn't walk lockstep with the brownshirts,their ass is GONE. It's happened way too often IMHO.

13. Anything can be a joke. The bleaker the humor the worse the situation
The joke is we have a joke for a president running our county into the ground. In the long-term we're fucked, so why not stare death in the eye and grin?

9. Never Surrender
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 01:46 PM by Xipe Totec
Good one! It reminded me of a poem I once got from my mother. Yes, my mother. Bravest woman I ever met.

Translated from Spanish:

Do not surrender, even in defeat,
do not feel a slave, even in bondage;
trembling in fear, think yourself brave,
and furiously attack, though badly wounded.
Be as tenacious as a rusted nail
that holds fast though old and bent;
be not like a cowardly peacock
that folds its plumage at any sound.
Stand like a God that never cries;
or like Lucifer that never prays;
and like the mighty oak, whose greatness
needs of water but does not beg...
And may your head, as it rolls to the ground,
still bite and and gnash in vengeance!

No te des por vencido, ni aun vencido,
no te sientas esclavo, ni aun esclavo;
trémulo de pavor, piénsate bravo,
y arremete feroz, ya mal herido.
Ten el tesón del clavo enmohecido
que ya viejo y ruin, vuelve a ser clavo;
no la cobarde estupidez del pavo
que amaina su plumaje al primer ruido.
Procede como Dios que nunca llora;
o como Lucifer, que nunca reza;
o como el robledal, cuya grandeza
necesita del agua y no la implora...
Que muerda y vocifere vengadora,
ya rodando en el polvo, tu cabeza!

17. I just can not associate with anyone outside of the family..
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 12:16 AM by mvd
..who voted for Bush. The ridiculousness of that vote makes them of a completely different frame of mind. They voted for a radical, and many of them are radicals themselves. To those who call me a socialist because I'm a Kucinich supporter, there's nothing non-mainstream about having a strong social safety net and protecting civil liberties. I still think people should be able to succeed. So I'm following the poem in all its tongue-in-cheek glory!
