2. Cassidy and LLR are two of my favorities period. Can't beat Bobby's
emotion at the end of some of the LLR recordings.

Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 02:52 PM by NJ_Lib
I'll be a girl's girl and pick Looks Like Rain... (Oh, Bobby, you're so dreamy...) ;)

Edited to say: Please note the sarcasm in above statement. Didn't want anyone to think those were actually MY words... Yikes...

12. My first Golden was named Esau
The minister that came over to "counsel" my wife and I before we got married (lived in sin for 10 years) said, "oh you know your bible stories because of Esau with the red hair" etc etc etc. I didn't have the heart to tell him the dog was named after a bobby tune:)

15. That's funny, I was telling someone years ago about the
song and they started telling me about the old testament story so I looked it up and saw the old testament/Vietnam analogy they were going for.

It's my favorite Bobby tune because it's a hard tune to do and it's a little esoteric and lost in a short span of musical history. They only played it a few times.

What did you tell the minister when he found out your cats were named Samson and Delilah?

19. I like Desolation Row
by Bobby better than the Dylan version. One night at Alpine Valley, in the rain was the most beautiful version of that song I ever heard the Dead do.

13. Are the two Bobby and Jerry solo debuts worth getting?
I've read somewhere that the solo debuts that were recorded in 1971/72 as part of the Dead recording contract are almost as good as "Workingman's Dead" and "American Beauty". Any truth to that?
