So who's gonna replace Rather? |
|
I hope whoever it is does the most vicious anti-Bush bitch-slap on their very first broadcast just to send Bushco a message that they don't intend to be intimidated. If they do a puff piece on him, I am outta there forever!

2. John Roberts or Scott Pelley |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 05:18 PM by chookie
Sorry I messed his name up first time, oh watchful eyes of DU. God am I showing my age -- I was thinking of Bill Paley of years back....and also the fact I very rarely watch 60 Minutes....

20. Oh, you know about that? |

I will confess I had a crush on him a few months ago that lasted 15 minutes, that made me look for info about his background and career. I was surprised to find out he started out as a vacuous haircut twinkie doll on a local Canadian station. I like him overall as an anchor, but rarely he still slips into "vidiot" mode and acts like a goofy local anchor.

Which is like being on MTV in the States. He was also an anchor on our national morning show. He was well known in Canada.

And he does a good job of it -- we need him there, trying to ask the tough questions.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to be in regular contact with His Chimperial Highness.
They say he burns his suit after each day's work, and uses a Brillo pad and Chlorox to scrub himself in the shower while he lets out a huge primal scream.
How much more of this would you subject him to?

Well past his "sell-by" date.
He's a November chicken.
They'll probably choose John Roberts, who, when I first saw him sub for Dan, startled me as to how much he looked like Young Dan. If Dan gets his way, it will be John Roberts, so it will be like watching himself young again.

About twenty five years ago he was one of the three anchors for the ABC Nightly News...
I think Barbara Walters and Howard K Smith were the other too...
That's ancient history to me....

May even insist he gets the hole surgically plugged up.
Nah. I think Ed got his ear pierced the day he realized he would never be chosen as Nightly News anchor.

If CBS wants to recapture credibility, it could do worse than appointing a woman as the new CBS news anchor. I think a woman might have a positive effect on the audience.
But what do I know. I'm just an old retired TV News anchor myself.
