Ever heard the ad for "motto citizens" on AAR?
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 05:39 PM by UdoKier
The one narrated by "Dr. Gola Wolf Richards"?

http://www.mottocitizens.com/main/default.asp

He addresses the President, than goes into a mumbo-jumbo-filled monologue.

I don't know if this thing is religious or just philosophical, but I swear, needlessly convoluted verbiage like that drives me NUTS!

Please say it in a straightforward way, Gola!

1. I agree.
It's just not concise. I believe there needs to be a reason for every word. If it's not doing something useful, it doesn't belong. And this is coming from someone who loves Russian literature!

;-)

2. It's become a ritual at my work, almost.
I sit there, tuned into AAR, with the buds in my ears to avoid listening to the disgusting woman in my office make bizarre bodily noises, some heretofore unknown to me.

That commercial comes on, nearly the same time everyday, and I just sit there shaking my head.

The woman at the desk (not disgusting lady, btw) across from mine has begun to snicker every time she sees it.

4. It's just pretentious gibberish as far as I can tell.

I wonder if they make a lot of money on their scam?

Maybe there are folks out their who will open their wallets if you string together a bunch of profound-sounding "big words".

Our Perspectacles® Courses are about Contemplation. To contemplate is to seek serenity by carefully analyzing the nature of perception. Contemplative practices can assist the power of thinking to command a universal way to peace through philosophy and psychology.

Perspectacles®?!?!?!

3. Um, excuse me, but aren't those the SAME PEOPLE?
One with facial hair (apparently photoshopped, IMHO) and one without?

Is it just me?
