And the Lord spoke, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. |
|
Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out! Once the number three, being the third number be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thou foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Bring out yer dead. Here's one. That'll be ninepence.
I'm not dead.
What? Nothing. There's your ninepence.
I'm not dead.
'Ere, he says he's not dead. Yes he is.
I'm not.
He isn't. Well, he will be soon, he's very ill.
I'm getting better.
No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment. Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
I don't want to go on the cart.
Oh, don't be such a baby.

There's no Quest. No search.
I've heard people call it "Monty Python and The Search and Quest of the Holy Grail and they fight a Black Knight."

And St. Antioch held the hand-grenade up on high saying, "Oh, lord, bless this thy hand-grenade so that it may blow thine enemies into tiny bits... in thy mercy." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and the sloths and the orangutans, and the livestock, and the fruit-bats, and the breakfast cereals..."
"Skip a little bit, brother..."
from memory - years ago.

But the thing about that movie that has had the longest effect, is the monks, chanting the benndictus, and wacking their skulls with boards. As a classical music fan, I often hear performances of the mass, in latin, and its hard to keep from snickering when they get to that line.
