The best college town?
I went to school in Columbia, Missouri. It was a pleasant little town with some nice people although in the early 70's it was not exactly an oasis for minorities. We used to party at pig roasts and keggers. (The guys once introduced me to the pig first.) We drank watered down Budweiser, Boone's Farm wine, and when we were really broke, MD 20/20. When I first went to the school there was a strict curfew for dormitory women and no intervisitation by the opposite sex. Later, the place loosened up.

I haven't been there for close to 30 years. But I still dream about the town and the campus frequently.

3. Yup
Great place--lots to do-- a bit pretentious at times--but it's earned it... :)

10. I spent a night there one afternoon
and it seemed great - students weren't there - but the scenery tops Iowa City, I must admit.

6. Hey, I went to MU, too
great college town. Loved it. I graduated in 1976. Plus, Stephens College and Columbia College were there. So many students. I particularly think about it this time of year.
