ya, what those other guys said......
i totally agree, but one note. if you are cooking for a family go ahead and get the big one, or you will have a heck of a time getting them all done at the same time. Great invention, but it is a bit harder to clean than they say. I am a geo and so is my son btw.

Hey - they'd let us have a fridge, but not a hot plate. :P

3. Yes ! Especially if you live alone ...
and if you live alone you save time putting your food on the George Foreman Grill instead of firing up the oven or stove each time .

4. Yes
I use mine almost everyday.

I hate cooking, I hate cleaning pans.

All I have to do is put some chicken or steak or whatever on the grill, walk away and in 8 to 10 minutes its done. And then you just wipe off the grill when its done.

Could not be easier.

The owner left such lengthy and worrysome cleaning instructions that we never tried it.

It's worth buying one but they can be a pain to clean (at least the older models are. I don't know about the others).

11. they
have new ones with detachable grilling surfaces. spring for that one. the old ones are amazing. nothing tastes better than meat cooked on these things. but cleaning the surfaces is not pretty. and off-putting if you try to use it a lot.

20. It was also on NPR two weeks ago.
George Foreman also discussed how food motivated his rise in boxing. He took a greasy bag to school and would say he ate his lunch before he came to school. The grill was an outgrowth of his early hunger. I am a really repressed male and this feature choked me up. This appliance has really helped the homeless.

33. I'm not sure with the homeless.
He does donate a lot to youth groups. That is where he went after he retired from boxing the first time Youth Center. He likes to feed people it seems to be a real concern and mission for him.

I was very impressed with what I heard.

15. I just bought the new one
The one with the removable grill plates is fantastic. This is my third GF. I've always had to get bigger ones. My only complaint with this machine has been the cleaning. Although it wasn't a huge hassle it wasn't as easy as it should have been. Now with the removable dishwasher safe plates and temperature control-I'm in GF heaven.

So after all that the answer is YES.

22. Yes it's huge
It will probably cook 6 to 8 burgers at a clip. It's far larger than my last one. It's also deeper. It takes up a bit of space on the counter but worth every inch.

27. I got me a $7.99 cast iron griddle pan that works GREAT... uses the stove
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 10:13 PM by radwriter0555
I already own; no need to plug it in; cleans easy, stores in the same place as my OTHER pots and pans... and it doesn't take up any more space than what I already have.

I've had it for almost 20 years.

I mean come ON. How much more CRAP do we really need?

I do salmon steaks...drizzle the fish with olive oil and lemon pepper. Wonderful. But by all means get the one with the removable grill plates. The other kind is hard to clean.

39. If you like rare steak, no. My friends who raved over it all like
well done. If you cook pork chops they have to be of a specific thickness in order to be juicy in the middle and browned on the outside. Thinner chops brown on the outside and the holy heck is cooked out of the insides. Chicken: hard to get the blood out of the middle. Bacon supposed to be good, but who eats bacon anymore, except maybe twice a year? Sausage supposed to be good, but same question. I gave mine away. Also, you have to buy the hugest model in order to cook for 2 people.
