ohio (columbus) DUers--need some input
can any of you suggest some nice hotels and restaurants in the area? my fam and i have picked columbus as a halfway point to get together at thanksgiving, and we want to stay somewhere nice (not too expensive, if possible ;-) ) and a good place to get a thanksgiving buffet type dinner. (cool! i get out of cooking this year!)

any suggestions much appreciated!

2. Yea
I always like to hear that people are coming to Columbus. It's really a wonderful city. I'm so glad I someone kicked this post because my family goes to hotel buffets every year for Thanksgiving and Easter. My first thought is Embassy Suites (the one on Corporate Exchange Dr.). They have a wonderful buffet in the hotel (we've gone many times) and because it's not in downtown the rates are cheaper. Are there any activities your family wanted to do while you're here? This hotel is near Easton Towne Center and Polaris Mall for shopping, but there are hotels even closer to those areas if that is a main goal. I can make suggestions if you want to be close to the zoo, Ohio State campus, COSI, or museums.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful time here! :)

4. thank you armatt
we will indeed probably be looking for a little shopping (it will be thanksgiving weekend, afterall! ;-) ) and things that are fun for kids. we hope to book in to a hotel that has an indoor swimming pool--most of our kids are fish. does the embassy suites have one?

and, thank you for the info. if all goes well with this trip, we may make columbus one of our permanent hot spots!

5. No problem
As a former fish myself, I know that Embassy Suites has an indoor pool and gym facilities. The closest malls both have Discovery Kids (or something similar), so no one should get bored. Whenever you decide on a final place, let me know because I might know some fun things going on in the area. Here are a couple links...

8. c'mon columbus!
check in!

the embassy suites sounds great, but many in the fam are on tight budgets (big surprise, considering the crap economy, huh?) and that is a bit on the high end.

any other ideas?

thanks! :hi:
