A thought
I was just looking at my cats, and the way they were looking back at me, and I wondered to myself, what do cats think about, and can they even think without having a diverse language, like us humans? I know when I think, it's more like a running commentary I have going in my head. I'm beginning to realize that the depths of my thoughts can be limited by not having the right words to completely articulate the thought to myself.

You know what I mean?

1. I think they have their own language.
The way the can understand human communication is amazing. My cat knows when I am about to get depressed before I do. One of my cats was also acting strangely two weeks before another got sick when his health and behavior was totally normal.

3. Used to wonder the same
about dogs.....then I saw the PBS documentary The Wolf Within and everything became perfectly clear to me as to how dogs see the world....it made the years with my wonderful Border Collie rewarding.

If you can understand the basic instincts and evolution of the cat, you can probably do the same.

6. I am fascinated by the evolution of the relationship.
I have two cats. The boy used to adore me but is now largely indifferent. He just wants out. Won't sleep in my bed, doesn't want to be touched... just wants out. Yet, he always comes home.

The girl wouldn't get near me for three years. Now she follows me every moment I'm home. Somewhere along the way, she fell in love with me. The mind boggles.

7. I tend to think in images rather than words.
Maybe cats do that, too?
