7. So...what was on the menu? |
|
Jeez, I thought you'd NEVER ask.
Breakfast Casserole: Cooked, crumbled, bulk sausage, bread cubes, cheese, in a casserole dish. Beat up some eggs and a little milk and pour over. You can make ahead and freeze. Frozen: 350 oven for an hour.
Jalapeno Cheese Grits: Cooked grits Shredded sharp white cheddar (I like Cracker Barrel White Vermont) Minced pickled jalapeno peppers. Mix well and reheat in micro or oven.
Fruit Salad: Strawberries, peaches, watermelon, red grapes, pineapple, and honeydew (that would be me? ;-)) in a "basket" hand carved (moi) from the watermelon.
Ho-made biscuits and store-boughten croissants.
Bloody Marys and Mimosas (1/2 & 1/2 orange juice and champagne). Coffee.

8. They say that talking to yourself is not |
|
in and of itself anything to worry about. It's when you start ANSWERING yourself that there may be a problem.
I couldn't agree more.
So you think I might have a problem?
Could be, son...could be.
What do you think I should do?
Maybe go fix another drink and chill for a while. Read the other posts. DO NOT go into GD. Just kick back here for a bit and sooner or later someone will talk to you.
Thanks. Be right back. You want a drink?
Scotch & soda. Lots of ice. Thanks. ;-)

Thanks. Kanpai. So...who was the brunch for?
A friend down the street. Her son is getting married tomorrow evening. We gave the brunch for the bridal party and out-of-town guests. Mrs. t. has been cooking for three days. We enjoyed it. Met some new folks, but now they'll be familiar faces at the wedding tomorrow. Some were from North Carolina. Been here for a couple of days. Glued to CNN yesterday watching Isabel. Thought the coverage was as ridiculous as we did. Called friends and family back home and there are no big problems. I had only one problem at the brunch. One of the bridesmaids? Statuesque, to say the least. Close to six feet tall. Wearing a low cut sundress with a set of...well, you know...out to here. Tried my damndest to keep my view at or above shoulder level, but...you know.
Yeah. I know. What're you gonna do?
Exactly. Even Mrs. t. said "Well, there they were. Nice ones, and I guess she had every right to show them off." She was sweet. Helped clean up after and all. God, sometimes I feel like such a letch.
Are you gonna dance with her tomorrow night?
Aww...man?

Rounds to make. You know.
Sure. Nice talking to you. You come here often?
Almost everyday. I'll be around. You need somebody to talk to, just buzz me.
OK, thanks.
Oh, and the lady with the...um...generous mammaries?
Yeah?
I think she likes you. ;-)
Aww...man? Jeez.
