KERRY DREAMS WANTED
I am writing a book about dreams and would appreciate hearing your dreams (and dreams of friends and relatives) concerning John Kerry. Any political dreams at all? I have seen a number of DU dreams about Kerry becoming president and I think these dreams may be precognitive. I wish I could collect Freeper dreams too and see what they are dreaming about Bush. May try to do that. Please help me get DU dreams. Spread the word. It would be great if you had a forum on dreams. I am a commie-pinko-Liberal Canadian but of course I am totally neutral about your election. However, I will never forgive you if Bush legitimately won in 2004. I anxiously follow events on DU concerning the recounts and fraud. Dreams please. Thanks.

1. I dreamed the same dream twice and I think it's political
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 07:24 AM by masaka___
In the dream, I am inside a big mansion during what seemed to be a Halloween party. I say this, because everyone was in costume. I was sitting at a table, and there was a man sitting beside me whom I believed to be a friend. All of a sudden, violence breaks out and the people inside panic. A group of armed thugs take over the party and they quickly start closing off all the exits. Luckily for me, I was able to scramble fast enough to make it outside, but the vast majority of partygoers were not so lucky and were locked into the mansion.

At this point, I was scared as shit and hiding behind bushes (<-- not the Texan kind ;-), trying my best to not be seen. However, I wanted to get as far from the mansion as possible, so I had to sneak away carefully. As I got further away, I noticed other groups of armed people heading towards the mansion, but my impression was that they were not in league with the thugs who took over the party. That said, I didn't want to cross them, either, so I stayed out of sight.

I had this dream twice, and I'll have to dig through my dream journal to see the dates, but they were spaced a few months apart. I think the last time I had this dream was sometime in September, and I also dreamed this sequence 3-to-5 months before that. It was weird the second time around, because my dreaming self was thinking, "I've dreamed this before; I know what's going to happen," and the same shit did happen, but my escape was slightly more graceful the second time around. That said, I got out just in the nick of time both times. I have this bad habit of waiting until the last minute to do things. ;-)

Anyway, while trying to interpret this dream, I thought that it was a metaphor for my escape from the United States, but I couldn't figure out what the significance of Halloween was. I currently think that since the elections happened a few days after Halloween, that that's where the tie-in is.

PS: I still live in the United States.

2. I had an election dream
I came into the living room and it was Election night (This dream had happened a couple weeks before the election).

Kerry was winning. I think it was at least 57% of the vote

I was like "Kerry is winning! Kerry is winning!"

I then turned around and was horrified to see that now Kerry strangely had 2% of the vote.

3. I had a dream that Laura Bush came over to my house
while she was campaigning. She wanted to use the bathroom and my son let her in. There was a bus load of UNH students with her and some of her aides. They trashed my kitchen.

I asked her if she would ask her husband if he would retire. I tried to convince her she would be much happier in Texas. She got angry. The End.

Sorry, not really about Kerry but at least it was about the election. This dream was after the election.

4. Don't know about precognitive but...
The other night, I had a dream that I was at a political rally. Although I have not attended a rally since 1988. Anyway, Kerry was up on stage, and I was near the front. I was looking up at him, and he caught my eyes, and he paused and just gave the warmest compassionate smile. It was almost like the type of look a father gives a child. It gave me the feeling that somehow everything was going to be ok.

5. I've had a bunch of political dreams...
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 09:04 AM by geekgrrl
I had dreams I was either at a campaign rally for Kerry (I did actually attend one) or that I was speaking at a campaign rally- introducing Kerry and I would get to meet him and shake his hand.

I also had a couple dreams about standing in line to vote and crying because it might be the day we get rid of Bush. (I actually did cry while voting)

One of the funnier dreams I had was about Bush. I was on an aircraft carrier (the famous, flightsuit, Mission Accomplished carrier) and it was my birthday. Bush walked up to me and handed me a birthday card and I wouldn't take it and told him to shove it (or something like that).

I also had one where I was violently shaking Rumsfeld and yelling something at him like "WTF is wrong with you??"

Election night (I went to sleep after Edwards came out and gave that "we won't give up speech) I had a dream that Bush had won and everyone was driving hummers. Maybe that one was a nightmare, actually.

6. I had a dream last night
I was in a hotel room with Brad Pitt who was pretending to be Russian. There was a knock on the door. Someone told me Kerry was down in the lobby and wanted to meet with any of his supporters that were staying at the hotel. I left Brad and went downstairs. Kerry was in a meeting room greeting his supporters. He looked like he was going to cry I hugged him and told him, "Sorry for invading your personal space." He said "that's okay." When everyone was assembled, we had a roundtable-type discussion. I said, "Mr. Kerry, I mean Senator Kerry, I think the Democratic party should move farther to the left."

After it was over, I went back up to my room and Brad, who had morphed into my husband.

I'm not sure what it all means.

7. Just a couple of nights ago, I dreamt I was working with John Kerry
in a restaurant that was a composite of every restaurant I worked in in my 20s. I was rather surprised to find myself there in an apron ready to go to work, so it wasn't that much more surprising to find John Kerry there, also in an apron and ready to start the shift. I understood right away that he had taken time off from the restaurant to run for president, so I held out my hand and as he took it to shake it, I greeted him saying, "Mr. President." As I went behind the counter, I wondered if maybe I'd said the wrong thing, considering Kerry "lost" the election. In a bit Kerry came behind the counter. I was immediately struck by how young he looked. He looked more like the Kerry of Vietnam Vets Against the War than the candidate for President. He was acting like a young preppy too, sort of mumbly and goofy. Suddenly a thin woman with long straight dark hair and exposed Barbie-doll breasts appeared by my side. She was talking, in an American accent about being Portuguese, in a way that made me realize she was Teresa Heinz Kerry. I interrupted her and said, "You now, you both look so different from the way you looked during the campaign! They really made you look a lot older!"

That's about all I remember.

8. A few weeks ago
I dreamt that I was in class and John Kerry came in, like he was campaigning, but it was after the election. He told us that everything was alright and he was taking care of it. Then I got to have my picture taken with him.

Weird huh?!

9. My mom told me she dreamed about Kerry the other night ...
Which is weird because she never talks about politics , so for her to even dream about Kerry makes me wonder . She told me in the dream she was walking through the city and suddenly Kerry walks by her and says " I am working on it it . " and then he continues on walking and goes into a park where there are a lot of other people with warm smiles . Weird huh ?

10. I had a good friend die at the WTC on 9/11
The night after the election, and for several nights after, and occasionally since, I have dreamt about my friend. He stares at me with a really sad expression on his face, and he shakes his head. Then I wake up. During the dream, and for hours afterwards, I feel this enormous, heavy sadness I haven't felt since he died. I haven't been able to go back to sleep afterwards, and I can't shake the way his eyes look, so completely and utterly sad.
