Yippee!
We finally got a new (for us) car! Our poor little green Corolla was totaled by a 17 year old who ran a stop sign. She was in a brand new Mercedes with an Ursaline Academy sticker (for those not from here, it's a hoity toity high school/prep school for the ultra privileged). We got a 2001 Camry Gallery edition, gray with gray leather interior, 38K miles on it and runs like a dream. It's gorgeous! We were only 3 months shy of paying off our old car. :( But since I can't drive, and we have only one car, we could get a nicer one. It has a sunroof, spoiler and alloy wheels.

We're thrilled with it! Now maybe Derby won't junk it up. :eyes:

3. Derby was okay
But my seat belt didn't lock for some reason and I planted my face on that bar between the windshield and the window. I got a concussion and my back was in bad shape. I have osteoporosis, so I'm lucky I didn't break any bones. But, I'm better now.

I've always wanted a Camry, and this one is great!

2. Cograts!!!!
I loved my Camary. The only reason we parted with it was my Hubby feel in love with a RED Mitsubishi 3000 gt....decked out. Then we traded that for a 2001 PT Cruiser in 2000 that I liked....then the Bush economy hit and we traded into a more affordable 2004 Neon to save money.I wished we'd kept the Camsry........oh hind sight.........lol

4. It's kinda funny
My hubby was completely attached and sentimental about his little green Corolla - we had over 100K on it (a 1997) and was grieving for it completely out of control. Once he got this one, he's like, "What corolla?" We plan to keep this one a loooong time! At least barring any 17 year olds.

our daughter almost old enough to get a licenses and she ain't driving our car.One reason we got rid of the Mits 3000 was some guy hit me ....just pulled right out without looking. Would you believe his insurance company asked me why I was out that day. I said if its any of your business I was delivering girl scout cookies. :wtf: I wish I'd gotten a whiplash. Would have served him right. The son of a gun hopped out of his car and said I'm gonna drive around the corner and get my insurance info......I'll be right back. There was car parts all over the road. I got right up next to him and said, you may go anywhere you want but you car stays put. He didn't move. Nut

6. Jeez
Well, at least this little rich girl was well insured. They drug their heels, but they got us a nice rental car, valued our poor little car a bit higher than blue book, and they're accepting my ER bills. I'm sure her daddy bought her a brand new Mercedes, but we get 5 more years of payments. :grr:

I really want to talk to the kid. I'm worried about her - she was crying her eyes out at the wreck. I remember reaching for her hand. She held it a bit and broke out crying all over again. I tried to say something to her, but I think I passed out. I was kind of in and out. I just want to tell her I'm okay now, that it was just an accident and I hope she learned a lesson from it.

7. Poor little rich kid.
I hope she learned a lesson too. She could have killed somebody. I would be mad too over any new paymnets but all in all it sounds as if it turned out well if it had to happen
