Just got a random call from a PreSchool child (for dog lovers)
Hello?
Have you seen my doggie?

What does your doggie look like?
He's a black Lab.

What is your doggie's name?
Hubert

I haven't seen Hubert but we'll put him in the yard if we do. What's your phone number?
I don't know my phone number. (now she starts to cry)

It's OK Honey. Is your Mommy or Daddy there?
No, just my sister and she's in the shower with her boyfriend.

Where do you live?
I don't know the name of my road.

Honey, do you know me?
I don't think so, I'm calling numbers to find my doggie.

Well if we find Hubert, we'll feed him and come find you. OK?
OK, I feel better now.

Goodbye Honey, you have a good Thanksgiving.
I will, Bye Bye

Little kids are the neatest people.

3. Sooo sad.
I hope Hubert shows up for her. Poor little girl. I would be sad if one of my doggies was gone too. Just sweet but so sad.

4. I'm sorry, but this line cracked me up
"No, just my sister and she's in the shower with her boyfriend."

I'm sure the parents would be happy to know that the big sister is shirking babysitting duties by canoodling in the shower with her boyfriend.

9. Yes, it really did happened. Just this afternnoon.
She was really upset about the loss of Hubert. I'd guess her age is about 4 or a very bright 3, what a heart tugger.

I worked with kids for a long time and let her statement about the sister go without comment. Good thing she couldn't see my facial expression. :-) You wouldn't believe the things kids say about the "goings on" in their homes.

10. Ohhhhhhhhh, Hubert, please go home! You are so missed!
I sure hope he does find his way home....

BTW, my Mom always used to swear my own first word was doggie--before Mamma, before Daddy. I was apparently born fearless of dogs, running after them whenever I saw one-- though my folks did not have an indoor dog at the time. (Guess it is good there weren't pitbulls around--LOL)
