What is most important to the 18-35 year old American male?

OK, this may seem like a stupid question but it seems like every damned guy that I know is obsessed with fucking video games, ALL OF THEM!

It's especially bad with the 25-35 group, even the married guys, same thing. I'm talking about professionals as well as stoners, it DOESN'T make a bit of difference.

What's the draw here? Are our lives so boring that we have to play shot em' ups 24/7 for stimulation?

Seriously, though, I'm a married 33 year old "professional" with one kid and another on the way, and I play video games. I don't however, play the first person shoot 'em ups. I've never really gotten into them.

I played boatloads of Everquest, and at the moment I'm into war simulations (the old Axis & Allies). I'd say they're non-commital intellectual pursuits. You can play and win or lose and drop them. Everquest is a community thing, and a personal goals thing I think.

Anyway, shoot 'em ups can be a fun outlet, I guess, but I don't see why people are obsessed with them.

Women, on the other hand... What's not to be obsessed about?
