There is a feeling of hope and optimism rising above the ashes of a difficult past. I can imagine sitting in a small club and listening to Downey singing these songs from his heart. Now that would be heaven."

I heard him on Oprah and Good Morning America and he is pretty damn good. I was surprised.

I didn't especially care for the music, but I too was surprised. He's not a bad singer at all.

3. I just looked him up on Rhapsody

And I'm listening to "Man Like Me."
His voice sounds like he's, well, lived the kind of life he's had. (It's reminiscent of Peter Criss on "Beth," for some odd reason.) Not my thing. At all.

On an edit, I think he's a great actor. I think I'll stick to watching him rather than listening.

On the Crooks and Liars blog, there is a video file of him performing on Oprah. I downloaded the file and it is pretty good. I didn't see the entire Oprah show, so I missed this. Just scroll down and you shall find it.
