We actually had a thread once where a guy was posting about authoritarianism and was talking about the Nazis and parking meters in the same post, so I got to work.

My father had a thing about these things. Meters to park. He would only pay after he parked. We used to laugh about it but he never paid a fine. He took all his tickets at end of year and sent them to state and said they were not legal as he had paid for the time he used. It worked.
