Let the land ring with the joyous news, “Kitsch is here once more, dear friends, kitsch is here in the department store….” Tis the day to purchase that multicolored tie for Uncle Lou, the days of week underwear for lover Sue, “oh sweet Kitsch you define our life!” Where, oh where are those SpongeBob SquarePants things, for which the nephew Ralph sings? It’s a “Save the Gefilte Fish” sweater for my environmentalist pal…and, a “Peter and Paul” slushy maker for Reverend Hal… if only the plastic can stand up under the pace, for Aunt Leah it will be a monogrammed purse-sized can of mace…

Don’t just we love this glorious day, buy things for which it will take the year to pay?

Actually I try to buy good things for my family. Really I would rather shop on the internet than participate in the mass hysteria of shopping centers today. And I've been gradually buying things so I don't have to use credit to pay it off.

2. I need a new set of handlebars and cables for a shop project...

Am I going to my LBS (local bike shop) today to get them?

I need to go to the laundromat, too. THAT might not be crowded...:-)

3. I only buy clothing for the family....

and a toy or two for the trips. Which a very dear friend of mine has recommended. And I give him great credit for that.
