Welcome home, Brother and Sister Vets, thank you for serving our country!
While posting to a fellow veteran on another topic it occured to me how many of us might need a kind word of support at this time of year. I know the holidays are always depressing to me. To my fellow veterans, I salute you. Welcome home, and thank you for serving our country!
To my fellow DUers, please join me in a kind word to our veterans!

1. I wish all vets a safe holiday.
An further wish that each of them could be with their families instead of fighting.

6. I think your version was the second iteration of the Good Doctor's
timeless wisdom.

7. Could you cite the source for this quote?
I am not familiar with it.

8. Aside from my memory,
which relies on some admittedly abused synapses, I can't. I want to say Fear and Loathing (either in Las Vegas, or on the Campaign Trail '72) but I wouldn't swear to either. Maybe I should just change my sig line.

9. eh. thanks but this Vet is getting kinda tired
our vets aren't fighting for any democracy these days. they are fighting (and dying) for lies and oil money.

i have spoken with some of my fellow Vets who i served with and NONE of us is particularly "proud" these days.

i know that is harsh but its the truth. not that its their fault but it's there.

10. The war in Iraq had just as well be called...
Edited on Fri Nov-26-04 07:51 PM by BikeWriter
Welcome home and thank you for serving America. The war in Iraq had just as well be called the war for Halliburton/Carlyle Group. That does nothing to lessen the sacrifices our troops are making there. :-(

13. They're just following orders.
They're following orders, like we did. I support the troops, but not the war in any way, shape, or form.
